Joint Counterterrorism Awareness Workshop Series (JCTAWS) The National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are sponsoring Joint Counterterrorism Awareness Workshop Series (JCTAWS) in major urban areas throughout the United States. The purpose of the JCTAWS is to examine preparedness levels at state and local governments to prevent or respond to an attack similar to the one carried out in Mumbai, India in November 2008. JCTAWS brings together federal, state, local, and private sector stakeholders from the first responder community and individuals representing security, medical, communications, hospitality, transit, and other relevant communities, in order to understand the full implications of a Mumbai-style attack. Cotter Research was awarded this opportunity to support JCTAWS by Scientific Research Corporation and SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic.
Reading Companion for JCTAWS From June to November 2012, Cotter Research was providing FEMA with project management services to develop a Reading Companion that supports the JCTAWS. The Reading Companion was a proof-of-concept that was essentially a compendium of research on complex, coordinated attacks and active shooter. The release date is TBD. Cotter Research was awarded this opportunity to support JCTAWS by Scientific Research Corporation and SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic.
Guidebook for Criminal Justice on Roadblocks & Solutions to Information Sharing South Carolina Research Authority awarded Cotter Research a contract to conduct an evaluation assessment of information sharing systems across the United States. The results of this assessment will be published in the second quarter of 2011 in the form of a technical report and a guidebook for organizations that have an interest in information sharing. This effort supported the information sharing portfolio of the National Institute of Justice. The release date is TBD. Cotter Research was the Project Director for this effort.
Waterhole Software & Palm Beach County Waterhole Software hired Cotter Research to provide assistance with project management services for the development of a Request for Proposal for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office for a new computer aided dispatch system, mobile application, records management system, automated field reporting application, and jail management system.
